WE CARE Solar co-founder receives 2010 Jefferson Award for Public Service

Dr. Laura Stachel is honored to have received the Silver Medal Jefferson Award for Public Service on behalf of WE CARE Solar. The achievements of 54 Bay Area residents were highlighted by CBS-5 at the January Award Ceremony in San Francisco. Honorees were involved in a wide range of community projects such as delivering free food to seniors in Marin, rescuing and training senior dogs to provide companions to the elderly, establishing a suicide hotline, donating furniture to the poor, and teaching music and sports to youth. The names of the five silver medalists from 2010 will be submitted as nominees for the National Jefferson Award, which has been dubbed “The Nobel Prize of Public Service.” The photo features Laura with two of her son, Ari and youngest daughter, Rachel, who attended the Award Ceremony at the Herbst Theatre.
