At We Care Solar, we believe that reliable light and power can transform lives, strengthen communities, and open the door to new possibilities. By connecting clean energy innovation with healthcare and education, we are working toward a future where no mother gives birth in the dark and the next generation of solar leaders is empowered to build a more sustainable world.
To design and deliver life-changing clean energy solutions that improve maternal healthcare and expand solar learning around the world.
We Care Solar was founded by wife and husband duo, Dr. Laura Stachel, obstetrician, and Hal Aronson, solar energy educator. We Care Solar initially designed and assembled Solar Suitcases for midwives at maternal health clinics in northern Nigeria. As word of our innovative power solution spread, we received requests from health workers around the world.
Our team of passionate professionals has a diverse range of backgrounds and a shared commitment to impactful work. We are based in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Uganda, the United States, and Zimbabwe.
We partner with Governments, UN Agencies, and local and international NGOs in both the health and energy sectors. Our partners co-lead implementation to improve maternal health outcomes through the provision of reliable lighting and electricity. We Care Solar initiatives would not be possible without the incredible generosity of our funders and supporters.
