Samantha is a passionate international development leader who loves working with organizations that are focused on finding innovative solutions to some of the world’s most difficult challenges. Prior to joining We Care Solar, Sam served as the Vice President of Business Development and Operations at iDE, a Denver-based non-profit focused on using market-based approaches and human centered design to help fight poverty in 11 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. While at iDE, she led strategic business development globally as well as overseeing operations for six country programs. For two years, Sam was based in South Africa where she was the General Manager for inPractice Africa, promoting a unique mobile technology for health that provided education and training for health care practitioners in limited resource settings. She served as a director with Chemonics International for 10 years, where she worked across numerous countries in Africa and Asia including the design and implementation of public health projects in Africa and beyond. She has a B.A. in Sociology from George Mason University, and speaks intermediate French and Dutch.
