Rex LuEngineer
Rex began his solar career in 2007, designing grid-tied solar electric systems. While volunteering in Haiti with Engineers Without Borders, he saw firsthand the positive impact that off-grid solar power systems could provide communities in the developing world. At the same time he saw a need for professionals who were experienced with these types of systems and his opportunity to get this experience came while an applications engineer at OutBack Power. While there, he had design, troubleshooting, and training roles for off-grid energy systems throughout North America and Africa. He is glad to be a part of the We Care Solar team, where he continues to see the life-changing impact of solar electric systems in communities lacking energy access.
Rex has a BS in mechanical engineering from University of California, Berkeley and obtained his NABCEP certification in 2013.
