Barry Neal, M.S., Director, has been active in the energy and the environmental sectors for over 35 years and is currently an Edmund Hillary Fellow, where his focus is on clean energy access in underserved communities. He was most recently Co-Head and Executive Vice President at Wells Fargo’s Renewable Energy and Environmental Finance (REEF) group, a business he started for the bank in 2006. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, he provided management consulting services to financial institutions and renewable energy development companies. Barry also served as Managing Director of Energy Investors Funds Group, a leading private equity firm in the independent power sector. Barry has served on the Board or in an Advisory capacity for various entities, including: the UC Davis Energy and Efficiency Institute; Innovation Incubator (IN2), a partnership between Wells Fargo and the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory, focused on clean energy technologies; and Imagine H20, a non-profit water technology accelerator. Barry earned a M.S. in Energy Management & Policy from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
